PATTI SMITH

Striking, rare, and certified Horses tour photography capturing Patti Smith — the poet and punk icon — at the beginning of her career. ⸺ Ron Bowman: “Patti Smith and her band performed at San Francisco’s Boarding House on February 15, 1976, less than two months after her debut album Horses released. Right from her opening number, the Velvet Underground’s We’re Gonna Have a Real Good Time Together, Patti was challenging existing Bay Area musical conventions. While many critics were hostile to Patti’s punk aesthetic, this was just the sort of resurgence of energy that rock and roll needed.”
